Member of the Week: Chris Aubin
Chris Aubin of Vons #3069, first caught our attention with his witty and eye catching picket signs during the Strike/Lock-Out of 2003-04. He has since been UMagazine’s cartoonist, with a new cartoon appearing in each issue. His cartoon for the March-April issue recently won top honors at the International Labor Comminications Association (ILCA) annual journalism awards competition. He won second place in the catagory of Best Cartoon in last year’s contest.
Aubin has been in the grocery industry for 22 years, and worked his way up from a Courtsey Clerk to the Dairy Manager at Vons 3069. Aubin’s hobbies include watching Dodger baseball, listening to jazz music, and drawing. He has a fondness for pug dogs, and some of his artistic works help to promote pug rescue and charity.
