Labor Studies Class: Labor & Political Action (LS7)
Politics is critical to labor’s survival. Skills needed to tackle political issues affecting your members, including lobbying, electioneering, member mobilization, monitoring legislation and holding politicians accountable.
Instructors: Matt Hart & Derek Smith
Labor and Political Action covers current political issues facing working people and the labor movement. The class will examine methods and techniques for lobbying, political action, member mobilization, as well as monitoring legislation and campaign laws. Students will learn the importance of political engagement and ways in which they can help in shaping political discourse within and for the labor movement.

Classes are Thursday evenings from 6 PM – 9 PM starting February 8, 2024 – May 30, 2024
