Member of the Week: Gary Cooper
Gary Cooper of Vons 2328, has been in the industry for 37 years. He has been a Checker since he started in the industry.
Cooper’s hobbies include spending time at the beach, listening to a variety of music and watching movies. He looks forward to this and a lot more when the time comes to retire.
When asked what inspired him to get more involved he said, “Preparing for the Strike/Lock out of 2003-04 got me involved.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t have decent pay or benefits or the ability to retire. I’d have to work the rest of my life.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “I like having a job with good pay and benefits. I also work with a lot of great people.”
