Member of the Week: Doris Barlow
Doris Barlow of Vons #2041 is a member of the Executive Board and a union steward.
Barlow has been in the industry for 39 years working her way up from a traffic controller to cashiering where she is today. When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I wanted to try to make a difference, and I felt I didn’t know much about my union and wanted to know more.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “Getting closer to retirement! (laughs) Running across nice people, the customers can be really great.”
Barlow’s hobbies include crochet, and cooking & baking.
