Member of the Week: Erica Martinez
Erica Martinez of Vons #2513 has been in the industry for 14 years. She started as a courtesy clerk and is now a cashier.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “My friend Nora Whittington made me want to get involved and learn more. I really wanted to be better informed.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I would be worried about job protection.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “For everyone to be more pleasant.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: “I am proud of my family.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “I really enjoy working with people.”
