Member of the Week: Priscilla Perez

Priscilla Perez of Ralphs #83 has been in the industry for 30 years. She started in the bakery as a cake decorator and is currently a cashier.

When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “Even in a small store like #83 we need good shop stewards to communicate information to every team member. I wanted to be a part of that.”

Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?

A: “Ralphs is my first union job. When my two sons started school I took my talent at cake decorating to Ralphs because they offered insurance and benefits for my family. I know now that no union means no benefits.”

Q: What is your greatest asset?

A: “I am a great communicator. I love people and always have a heart for sharing and nurturing and encouraging team members.”

Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?

A: “I would hope that everyone would share in the golden rule, do to unto others as you would want to be done to you.”

Q: What in your life are you most proud of?

A: “My family and my grandchildren, god has blessed me with a rich life of good friends at my workplace, senior group, Karaoke group and others yet to come.”
