Member of the Week: Michael Harrell
Michael Harell of Albertsons 6563, has been in the industry for 13 years. He started with Albertsons as a Courtesy Clerk and is now a Key Carrier.
Harrell’s hobbies include reptiles, computer technology, gaming, soccer and law enforcement television programs.
Harell is also involved in the recycling program at his store and has rescued 7 of the 12 animals he owns.
When asked what inspired him to get more involved he said, “I want to make sure my employer and co-workers are treated fairly and according to our contract.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t have the protections under the contract, or the benefits that I have now.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “The people I work with. They are my family here in California.”
