Member of the Week: Kenny Hungerford

Kenny Hungerford of Ralphs #233 has been in the industry for nearly 15 years. He started as a Courtesy Clerk and is now a Sales Manager.

Hungerford’s hobbies include bowling, basketball, playing video games, football, and playing with his children.

When asked what inspired him to get more involved he said, “I wanted to get more knowledge about the union. As I learned more I liked what I saw and knew that I wanted to be a bigger part of Local 324.”

Q: What is it you like most about your job?

A: “That we are a union company, that I am a Shop Steward, and that I have a chance to help people.”

Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?

A: “I am sure I would make less money, and if I still had a job I would be more stressed out everyday, and wouldn’t be able to afford a lot of things I have now.”

Q: If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

A: “I would change the way I looked at things and the way I spend money so I could save more and not struggle.”

Q: What is your greatest asset?

A: “Being a happy, thoughtful, hardworking, and helpful person.”

Q: What in your life are you most proud of?

A: “my kids and my job. I picked a good union to be a part of, and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have my family.”

Q: If you could make one change at the workplace what would it be?

A: “It would be getting the company and management to see what kind of people they have working for them and to treat and respect everyone better.”
