Member of the Week: John Naffziger
John Naffziger of Albertsons #6509 has been in the industry for 27 years. He started out as a Courtesy Clerk and is currently a Food Clerk and working the Dairy Box.
Naffziger’s hobbies include sailing, riding bikes, reading, spending time with his daughter and soon, his twin sons.
When asked what inspired him to get more involved he said, “Someone has to step up when there is trouble. Someone needs to stand up or those who don’t stand up for themselves, I just want to make sure no one is taken advantage of.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “As a union member we have protections in place that others don’t. I have a voice and the ability to enact change to better my life and that of my co-workers.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “I’d want there to be more help or more hours to get what we need done.”
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: “People. Being able to work with great people and customers.”
