El Super No es Tan Super con Sus Trabajadores y Clientes
Nuestra Super Lucha se Expande a las Tiendas
Nuestro equipo de negociaciones concluyó hoy dos días de negociaciones con El Super. A pesar de lograr algunos puntos menores de acuerdo, estamos profundamente decepcionados de reportar que El Super sigue estancado en los temas económicos y protecciones centrales por las que hemos estado luchado en los últimos seis meses.
La Compañía aún no está dispuesta a invertir en nosotros los trabajadores y los clientes que somos quienes hacemos de su negocio una empresa exitosa.
El Super sigue negándose a atender adecuadamente nuestras principales prioridades:
- Fuertes protecciones de inmigración para empleados y clientes
- Tiendas más seguras tanto para trabajadores como clientes
- Sueldos suficientes para sostener a nuestras familias y que verdaderamente reflejen nuestra experiencia, calidad de servicio y compromiso con nuestras comunidades y la misma compañía.
Nuestro contrato venció en abril y hemos estado negociando desde entonces. Después de seis meses de esfuerzos por un contrato justo que mejore nuestras tiendas, condiciones de trabajo y ayudar a crecer a la compañía, El Super sigue negándose a reconocer nuestro valor.
¡Pero no nos rendimos y no estamos solos! Nuestra comunidad nos apoya. Vecinos, líderes de fe y defensores de los derechos de los trabajadores han estado luchando con nosotros, entregando peticiones a la gerencia de El Super exigiendo un contrato justo, mejores tiendas y protecciones para nuestra comunidad migrante.
Nuestra comunidad es nuestra mayor fuerza. Juntos, con nuestra comunidad luchando unidos, nosotros intensificaremos nuestras acciones hasta que la compañía sienta la presión para que El Super haga lo correcto.
Esta lucha no ha terminado y no nos callaremos hasta que tengamos un contrato que refleje nuestro valor y nuestra dignidad.

El Super Isn’t that Super for Workers and Customers
Our Super Struggle Expands to the Stores
Our bargaining committee has just concluded two days of negotiations with El Super. Despite reaching agreements on some minor issues, we are deeply disappointed to report that El Super continues to stall on the core economic items and protections that we have fought for over the last six months. The company is not yet willing to invest in us, the workers who make their success possible.
El Super is still refusing to adequately address our core priorities:
- Strong immigration protections for our members and customers.
- Safer stores for workers and customers alike.
- Living wages that truly reflect our experience, quality service, and commitment to our communities and the company itself.
Our contract expired in April, and we have been negotiating since then. After six months of pushing for a fair contract that improves our stores, our working conditions, and helps the company grow, El Super is still refusing to recognize our worth.
But we are not backing down, and we are not alone! Our community has our backs. Neighbors, faith leaders, and workers’ rights advocates have been standing with us, delivering petitions to El Super management calling for a fair contract, better stores, and protections for our immigrant communities.
Our unity is our greatest strength. Together, with our community banding with us, we will escalate our actions until the company feels the pressure to do what’s right. This fight is far from over, and we will not be silenced until we have a contract that reflects our value and dignity.
We demand a fair contract, one that values our effort and loyalty! Let’s show El Super that workers are united and steadfast.

El Super Necesita Tomar en Serio las Negociaciones
¡Es Hora de que El Super Escuche a sus Trabajadores y Clientes!
Nuestro equipo de negociaciones se reunió hoy con El Super en nuestra cuarta sesión de negociaciones. El enfoque principal fue nuestra propuesta económica con sueldos dignos, que vayan de acuerdo con los aumentos al sueldo mínimo en nuestras ciudades y el estado de California.
¡Nosotros estamos luchando por sueldos que no solo nos alcancen para sobrevivir, necesitamos que El Super compense nuestro trabajo con un sueldo que nos permita vivir con dignidad!
La compañía rechazó nuestra propuesta de aumentos de sueldo , argumentando fríamente que “no les funciona”, una respuesta que no sólo ignora sino que desprecia la entrega inquebrantable de quienes, como trabajadores esenciales, arriesgamos nuestra salud y nuestra vida para sostener las operaciones durante la pandemia del Covid-19. Y hasta el día de hoy seguimos dando, incondicionalmente, el cien por ciento a esta empresa.
Con sus respuestas insultantes, El Super nos está obligando a intensificar nuestra lucha. Y no estamos solos: nuestros clientes leales, nuestros aliados y nuestra comunidad están con nosotros.
Representantes de las siete tiendas también entregamos en persona a la compañía nuestras peticiones de contrato, firmadas y respaldadas por todos los trabajadores para dejar en claro que no nos rendiremos en nuestra lucha por un contrato justo.
Regresaremos a las negociaciones los días 9 y 10 de octubre. Mientras tanto, demostremos a El Super que los trabajadores estamos unidos y firmes. ¡Exigimos un contrato justo, uno que valore nuestro esfuerzo y lealtad!

El Super Needs to Take Negotiations Seriously
It’s Time for El Super to Listen to Its Workers and Customers!
Our bargaining team met with El Super today for our fourth bargaining session. The main focus was our economic proposal for living wages, that keep up with the cost of living.
We are fighting for wages that not only allow us to survive, we need El Super to compensate us for our work with fair wages that allow us to live with dignity!
The company rejected our proposed wage increase, coldly arguing that “it doesn’t work for them,” a response that not only ignores but disregards the unwavering dedication of those of us who, as essential workers, risked our lives to keep operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. And to this day, we continue to give this company our hundred percent unconditionally.
With their insulting responses, El Super is forcing us to escalate our fight. And we are not alone: our loyal customers, our allies, and our community are with us.
Workers representing all seven stores also delivered our contract demands in person to the company, signed and backed by all workers to make it clear that we won’t give up in our fight for a fair contract.
We are back to negotiations on October 9 and 10. In the meantime, let’s show El Super that workers are united and steadfast. We demand a fair contract, one that values our effort and loyalty!

El Super Necesita Valorarnos Como Trabajadores Y como Personas
La propuesta económica de El Super no refleja nuestro valor
El miércoles 23 de julio nuestro comité de negociaciones se reunió con El Super en nuestra tercera sesión de negociaciones. En la reunión previa, presentamos a El Super nuestras propuestas económicas incluyendo suficientes horas y sueldos que nos permitan sostener a nuestras familias.
Hoy la compañía presentó una contraoferta con aumentos que no toman en cuenta el alto costo de vida en el Sur de California y peor aún ¡no respetan la antigüedad de los empleados!
Nosotros seguiremos luchando para demostrar a la compañía que nuestro trabajo vale más que solo unos cuántos centavos de aumento al año, especialmente cuando la mayoría de nosotros hacemos el trabajo de dos o tres personas.
Según la compañía, ellos buscan un balance pero aquí no hay ningún balance. El Super es una compañía multimillonaria (gracias a nuestro trabajo y experiencia). Por otro lado, la propuesta económica de la compañía incluye contribuciones al seguro médico más altas para los trabajadores. Esto es indignante y no lo aceptamos.
Por otra parte, desde el primer día de negociaciones, pedimos a la compañía incluir un plan de protección a los clientes y trabajadores frente a las incursiones y operativos de migración – básicamente le estamos pidiendo a la compañía seguir la ley y proteger los derechos de los trabajadores y clientes.
Hoy dimos seguimiento a nuestra petición anterior presentando una propuesta de lenguaje similar a la que Ralphs y Albertsons estuvieron de acuerdo de incluir en el contrato que acabamos de acordar con estas compañías.
Aunque El Super estuvo de acuerdo en tomar algunas medidas para mejorar la seguridad y restringir el accesos a las áreas no públicas en las tiendas, la compañía aún no ha estado de acuerdo con nuestra propuesta de protección migratoria para clientes y trabajadores en el contrato que estamos negociando.
Los trabajadores de El Super debemos seguir fuertes y unidos para demostrar a El Super que un contrato justo es bueno para los trabajadores, para los clientes y para la misma empresa. Sabemos que nosotros valemos más que los centavos y concesiones que ellos están planteando. Necesitamos que ellos sepan que no nos haremos para atrás.

El Super Needs to Value Us as Workers AND People
El Super’s Economic Proposal Does Not Reflect Our Worth
On Wednesday, July 23, our bargaining committee met with El Super for our third bargaining session. In the previous meeting, we presented El Super with our economic proposals, including sufficient hours and living wages to sustain our families.
Today, the company presented a counterproposal with wage increases that don’t take into account the high cost of living in Southern California, and even worse, don’t respect employee seniority!
We will continue fighting to show the company that we’re worth more than a few cents a year, especially when most of us do the work of two or three people.
According to the company, they are looking for a balance, but there’s no balance here. El Super is a billion dollar company (thanks to our work and experience.) On the other hand, the company’s economic proposal includes higher health insurance contributions for workers. This is outrageous and we do not accept it.
Furthermore, since the first day of negotiations, we have asked the company to include a protection plan for customers and workers against immigration raids and operations -we are basically asking that employers adhere to the law and protect the rights of workers and customers. Today, we followed up on our previous request by presenting a proposal with language similar to what Ralphs and Albertsons agreed to include in the contract we just reached with these companies.
Although El Super has agreed to take some measures to improve security and restrict access to non-public areas in stores, the company has not yet agreed to our proposal for immigration protection for customers and workers in the contract we are negotiating.
We must remain strong and united to show El Super that a fair contract is good for workers, customers, and the company itself. We know we’re worth more than the pennies and takeaways they’re offering us. We need them to know we won’t back down.

El Super Da la Espalda a Trabajadores y Clientes
¡Nuestra lucha en El Súper apenas comienza!
El lunes, 9 de junio nuestro comité de negociaciones se reunió con El Super en la segunda ronda de negociaciones.
Ante la situación de emergencia que se vive en nuestras comunidades por el agresivo ataque migratorio de la administración federal, comenzamos la sesión retomando nuestra propuesta de implementar un plan de protección para clientes y trabajadores ante operativos migratorios.
Miembros del comité de negociaciones tomaron la palabra para hacer énfasis en la importancia de este tema para la comunidad latina, ya que la mayoría de ellos son quienes compran en nuestras tiendas y necesitan sentirse seguras mientras hacen sus compras, de lo contrario, bajarán las ventas.
Exigimos a la compañía a tomar su responsabilidad para proteger a todos los que entren a la tienda; que se comprometa a cerrar tiendas durante toques de queda o redadas; pagar sueldos durante posible cierre de tiendas; dar permisos de ausencia por detenciones a familiares; restringir el acceso del ICE a áreas privadas sin orden judicial y abstenerse de compartir información no requerida por orden judicial.
La compañía reiteró su postura de que cumplirá con las leyes federales y no dio ninguna respuesta concreta. Aseguró que iba a analizar las peticiones y dar una respuesta en las próximas negociaciones. Hay demasiado en juego para nuestras comunidades y seguiremos insistiendo para lograr protecciones en nuestro contrato.
También presentamos nuestras propuestas económicas incluyendo más horas y sueldos que nos permitan sostener a nuestras familias. La compañía quedó de responder en las próximas negociaciones.

Es momento de mantenernos fuertes y demostrar a El Súper que somos los trabajadores quienes mantenemos operando sus negocios y nuestro trabajo es lo que los hace crecer. Recuerda que “¡El Pueblo Unido, Jamás Será Vencido!”

El Super Turns Its Back on Workers and Customers
Our fight at El Super is just beginning!
On Monday, June 9, our bargaining committee met with El Super for the second round of negotiations.
Given the emergency situation our communities are experiencing due to the aggressive immigration attack by the federal administration, we began the session by revisiting our proposal to implement a protection plan for customers and workers during immigration operations.
Members of the bargaining committee took the floor to emphasize the importance of this issue for the Latino community. They stressed the importance of creating a space where they can shop in our stores and feel safe while shopping.
We demand that the company assume its responsibility to protect everyone who enters the stores; that it commit to closing stores during curfews or raids; paying salaries during potential store closures; granting members leaves of absence for possible family detentions; restricting ICE access to private areas without a warrant; and refraining from sharing worker information not required by a warrant.
The company reiterated its position that it will comply with federal laws and did not provide any concrete responses. It assured that it would analyze the requests and provide a response in upcoming negotiations. There is too much at stake for our communities, and we will continue to insist on achieving protections in our contract.
We also presented our economic proposals, including more hours and wages that will allow us to support our families. The company promised to respond in upcoming negotiations.
What’s next?
It’s time to stay strong and show El Super that we, the workers, are the ones who keep their businesses running, and our work is what makes them grow. Remember, “The People United, Will Never Be Defeated!”

El Super Disrespected our Contract Proposals
It’s time El Super respects the work we do!
On April 28 and 29, 2025, we met with El Super for our first round of bargaining with the largest bargaining committee we’ve ever had. We showed up as a strong, united force of proud members ready to get the contract we deserve.
We began the bargaining session by presenting our non-economic proposals, including immigration-related protections in our workplace, fair scheduling, more guaranteed hours, seniority protections, and improved safety in the stores.
The company rejected almost all of our proposals. They think the current contract is fine as is; it’s working well for them. They didn’t care that we are struggling, that we are concerned about our safety in this federal climate, that we are not okay. They do not care about us, its workers and the communities we serve!
It’s time to fight to make our jobs and our lives better. We must not accept a contract that is anything less than what we deserve. Whether we’re at the bargaining table or in the stores, we need to show El Super that we’re serious about our proposals and that we’re ready to stand together to get a strong contract. We are tired of being treated as second class with many of our coworkers barely above minimum wage despite decades of service! Enough is enough!
What’s next?
We have to continue to build power so that the companies come to the table with serious proposals that value our work. Only by rising up together can we change our workplaces, not only for us, but for our co-workers as well.

El Super No Respetó Nuestras Propuestas de Contrato
¡Es hora de que El Super respete el trabajo que hacemos!
El 28 y 29 de abril de 2025, nos reunimos con El Super en nuestra primera ronda de negociaciones con el comité de negociaciones más grande que hemos tenido. Nos presentamos como una fuerza unida de miembros orgullosos listos para lograr el contrato que merecemos.
Comenzamos la sesión de negociaciones presentando nuestras propuestas no económicas, incluyendo protecciones migratorias en nuestro lugar de trabajo, horarios justos, más horas garantizadas para todos los trabajadores, protección por antigüedad y mayor seguridad en las tiendas.
La empresa rechazó casi todas nuestras propuestas. Ellos piensan que el actual contrato está bien como está. Está funcionando para ellos. A ellos no les importa que estamos luchando para sobrevivir, que estamos preocupados por nuestra seguridad en este clima federal, que no estamos bien. ¡A ellos no les importamos nosotros sus empleados y las comunidades a las que damos servicio!
Es hora de luchar para mejorar nuestros trabajos y nuestras vidas. No debemos aceptar un contrato que sea menos de lo que merecemos. Ya sea en la mesa de negociaciones o en las tiendas, debemos demostrar a El Super que nuestras propuestas son serias y que estamos dispuestos a luchar unidos para conseguir un buen contrato.
¡Estamos cansados de que nos traten como si fuéramos de segunda clase, con muchos de nuestros compañeros apenas por encima del sueldo mínimo a pesar de décadas de servicio! ¡Ya basta!
¿Qué sigue?
Tenemos que seguir construyendo poder para que las compañías vengan a la mesa de negociaciones con propuestas serias que valoren nuestro trabajo. Solo luchando unidos podemos cambiar nuestros lugares de trabajo, no solo para nosotros sino para nuestros compañeros de trabajo también.
