Member of the Week: Janis Mumford

Janis Mumford of Albertsons #6510 has been in the industry for 28 years. She started as a GM Clerk and is now a GM Department Head.

When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I wanted to be a voice for the people in my store.”

Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?

A: “I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to raise my children with good benefits.”

Q: What is your greatest asset?

A: “I have a good attitude and am able to keep things positive.”

Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?

A: “To make sure the lines of communication stay open in the store.”

Q: What in your life are you most proud of?

A: “I am proud of my kids, and my job.”
