Member of the Week: Salvador Morris
Salvador Morris of Albertsons #6140 has been in the industry for 19 years. He started as a Courtesy Clerk and is now a Bakery Clerk.
Morris’ hobbies include spending as much time away as possible. He loves to travel. He also participates with the Autism Walk program in Orange County.
When asked what inspired him to get more involved he said, “I was volunteered by my co-workers to become the steward for our store and have really enjoyed it. I like helping my co-workers and being informed about the contract.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “Helping the customers and being with my co-workers.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t have the kind of benefits that we do. Having a contract that protects me on the job is important.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “I would want better communication between co-workers and management.”
