Member of the Week: Peter MacAulay
Peter MacAulay of Vons #3076 has been in the industry for 9 years. He started as a box boy with Albertsons and is now a meat cutter.
Peter is a local artist who has been featured in UMagazine, and his hobbies include painting, sculpting, and drawing in charcoal.
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t make the money that I do, and I wouldn’t have the benefits that I do.”
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: “I like that it allows me to go to school. I am working toward a degree in fine arts.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: “I am proud of my artwork being featured in the union magazine.”
Q: If you could make any single change in your workplace what would it be?
A: “To have more help. There is a lot to do and the hours keep getting cut.”
