Member of the Week: Janifer Suber
Janifer Suber of Vons 2861, has been in the industry for 17 years. She started as a clerk’s helper moved on to the bakery, customer service, checker and is now a Front End Supervisor
Suber’s hobbies include reading horror and romance, watching old movies and TV shows and spending time with her 4 grandchildren.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I look at the union s a lawyer. The Union wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t a problem and it helps me an my family.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “I like coaching and training my co-workers. Helping them to do a better job and build confidence. You have job security when you know your job inside out.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I have benefits and protections that I wouldn’t have if I didn’t have a union.”
Suber also likes to help with causes that raise breast and prostate cancer awareness.
