Member of the Week: Jackie Vasquez
Jackie Vasquez of Ralphs # 71 has been in the industry for more than 10 years. She was hired as a Courtesy Clerk and is now a Bakery Manager.
Vasquez’s hobbies include spending time with her husband and three children, an interest in classic and vintage cars, being active in church and a football mom.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “Protecting workers rights, making sure that everyone is treated fairly and that they know what their rights are.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: I wouldn’t have the protections and benefits offered by our contract.
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “I enjoy the work. I like dealing with people and helping meet their needs as well as making customers happy.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: My family.
