Member of the Week: Tacy Chambers
Tacy Chambers of Albertsons #6527 has been in the industry for almost 11 years. She was hired in 2005 as a Checker.
Chambers’ hobbies include spending time with her friends at the Performing Arts Center watching ballets, musicals and plays. She also enjoys gardening. She participates in several cancer awareness fundraisers, and volunteers at a senior center in Orange County.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I believe people should be treated fairly and respectfully at work. I want to keep informed of the issues that directly affect our working families.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t have the support that being part of a union brings.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “I would like to have better communication between management and staff.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “I love my customers and co-workers, to me they are like family. I love coming to work everyday, it’s like a second home.”
