Member of the Week: Diane Newmyer
Diane Newmyer of Vons 2328, has been in the industry for 8 years. She started as a Service Deli Clerk and is now the Service Deli Manager.
Newmyer’s hobbies include serving her community and being a sports mom.
Newmyer is also a resident manager at a homeless shelter called Anaheim In Faith Shelter.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I want to help employees so they are treated fairly, give them confidence against upper management.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t have the protections that I do, or the benefits.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “Communication of management.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: “My family.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “I love the fast paced Deli work making customers happy, and being there to help employees.”
