Member of the Week: Chari Galbraith
Chari Galbraith of Ralphs # 188 has been in the industry for 18 years. She was hired as a Bakery/Deli Clerk and is currently the Bakery Department Head.
Galbraith’s hobbies include running, yoga, reading, spending time with her son and interior design.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I wanted to have first hand information and be more informed. I felt I could provide our store with good representation from our Union.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “In this economy (day and age) I cold be living in ‘poverty’ but the union protects my good wages and benefits.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “More hours to complete or better accomplish our duties.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: “As a single parent, I am very proud of my son and his accomplishments. I am proud to say that as much as it can be a struggle, I am able to support him and bring him up –even living in South Orange County.”
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: “I really like the people that I work with and that it’s close to home.”
