Member of the Week: Billie June Curtis
Billie June Curtis of Albertsons #6504 has been in the industry for 24 years. She has been a cashier for her entire career.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I wanted to stand for what I believe in.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I know that I would make less money and that conditions at work wouldn’t be as good. My father worked in the oil fields in Texas without a union and conditions were unsafe and the pay was awful.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: “My family.”
