Member of the Week: Roberto Soto
Roberto Soto of Vons # 2217 has been in the industry for 16 years. He was hired as a courtesy clerk and is now in the Produce Department.
Soto’s hobbies include cleaning his cars and spending time with his family.
When asked what inspired him to get more involved he said, “I wanted to be more helpful and a stronger member.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “I wouldn’t have the security I do. With the union, there are steps to being let go that other companies don’t have to follow. I don’t have to worry about being let go for no reason.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “I would want people to have the help they need when they need it.”
Q: What in your life are you most proud of?
A: “I am proud of my family, they are amazing.”
