Member of the Week: Kelly Pierce
Kelly Pierce of Albertsons #6148 has been in the industry for 20 years. She was hired as a courtesy clerk and is now a cashier.
Pierce’s hobbies include roller-skating, attending union activities such as rallies and precinct walks, and labor classes.
Pierce is the 2011 Steward of the Year and recipient of the Matt Jefferson Award. She was awarded the honor due to her incredible involvement with her fellow members, and her support of the labor movement.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “Knowledge is power. I want to learn as much as possible and share it with other members.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “My customers. Without them I wouldn’t have a job.”
