September 10th, 2018 Rite Aid negotiations update
No new offers from Rite Aid, but the boycott and store actions by you are making a difference.
Our boycott petition is nearing 2,000 signatures and our boycott lines at the stores are turning away hundreds of consumers who choose to support Rite Aid workers like you by shopping elsewhere.
The company is clearly feeling the pressure. If we keep this up we are very optimistic about a fair deal – but we’ll only get it if we keep up the pressure.
Some more details:
- Today, the L.A. County Federation of Labor AFL-CIO will vote to support our strike if it should happen. This means over 300 unions with 800,000 members and family will stand with us in a strike against Rite Aid. If you want to attend, it will be at 3pm at LA Fed HQ. - The Orange County Register covered our negotiations, and highlighted recently retired member Dorothy Alavarez. You can read the story here: https://www.ocregister.com/2018/09/07/labor-leaders-expected-to-endorse-strike-support-for-rite-aid-workers/
