Member of the Week: Gay Taylor

Gay Taylor of Ralphs 76, has been in the industry for 37 years. She started as a Clerks Helper at Alpha Beta and is currently a Scan Coordinator.

Taylor’s hobbies include traveling, taking pictures, visiting wineries and cruises.

When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “I was raised union and have always held those values. I have always been supportive of workers and wanted to be part of the fight for a better middle class.”

Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?

A: “I am sure that I would pay a lot for benefits, and I wouldn’t have the protection of a contract.”

Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?

A: “I would want better communication with management, and either more hours, or more help.”

Q: What in your life are you most proud of?

A: “My family.”

Q: What is it you like most about your job?

A: “The satisfaction of getting the job done and helping other members address concerns they may have.”
