Member of the Week: Eileen Bancalari
Eileen Bancalari of CVS #8841, has been in the industry for 27 years. Bancalari started out working as a product facer and is now in merchandising, assists in breaking down loads, ordering, checking, receiving, and setting the weekly ads.
When asked what inspired her to get more involved she said, “Getting information (on) how to protect your job, as well as your co-workers.”
Q: What is it you like most about your job?
A: “The friends I have made in the years at the store.”
Q: How would your life be different if you were not a union member?
A: “Being a Steward has made my voice louder. It’s given me a chance to help my co-workers.”
Q: If you could make a change in the workplace, what would it be?
A: “To be more united as a whole. To work together as a tighter unit.”
Bancalari enjoys participating in the Labor History classes offered at the Buena Park office and her hobbies include watching a variety of movies.
