In 1971, UFCW Local 324 established a far-reaching, member oriented club for retired members of Local 324. Throughout the years, our club has not only provided fun and entertainment for our members but also provided substantial and useful information.

Local 324 Retiree's Club is the largest and most successful UFCW Union Retiree Club in Southern California. We are dedicated to making friends, staying informed and having good times without spending a lot of money.
We invite all retirees within our membership guidelines  to join and take advantage of our many activities.

 PRESIDENT: Barbara Hamilton  (562) 991-5278

Before retiring, Barbara worked at Local 324 as Executive Secretary to the President. While working at Local 324 she ws privileged and honored to organize this Retirees’ Club, and many other activities such as the Scholarship Program, Children’s Christmas Party, Labor Day Picnics and Award banquets. Barbara has been an active member of the Club since its beginning and has served as President, Recording Secretary, Member-at-Large, and is serving as advisor to all committees. Barbara resides in Cerritos.

1^st VICE PRESIDENT:  Lou Cruz  (714) 637-3585

Lou worked as a Business Representative for Local 324 before retiring. Lou retired in 2000 with 28 years experience in the industry. He joined the Retirees’ Club in 2006 and has served as 1^st Vice President and Member-at-Large. Lou is involved in all activities of the Club including the major fundraiser, bingo, bowling, Budget/Finance, Bylaw committee, Picnic and our Website. Lou and his lovely wife Eileen reside in Anaheim.

2^nd VICE PRESIDENT: Tom Alderson  (562) 596-4893

After 34 years in the industry, Tom retired from Albertsons’s in 1999. Tom joined the Retirees’ Club in 1999 and has served as 2^nd Vice President. Tom is presently serving on the Budget committee, entertainment, fashion show and tea, hospitality, membership, picnic,  as well as being a Travel Host. Tom and his lovely wife Joan reside in Seal Beach.

Diana retired from Local 324 where she worked as a secretary . She has 15 years experience in the industry, and joined the Retirees’ Club in 2005. Diana has served as Corresponding Secretary, Chairperson for our Military collection,  Annual Picnic ,  Volunteer Luncheon,  the Website, and has served on numerous other committees. Diana resides in Placentia.

RECORDING SECRETARY:  Lucille Basye  (714) 846-5287

Lucille worked for Von’s Markets and Certified Grocers. She joined the Retirees’ Club in 2000 and has  served as Recording Secretary, Chairperson for the Bylaw committee, Fashion Show  & Tea,  the White Elephant Auction and has served on numerous committees. Lucille resides in Huntington Beach.

TREASURER:  Marian Jones  (714) 536) 7315

Before retiring, Marian worked for Smith’s Food King, Safeway Markets, and Lucky Markets. She became a member of the Retirees’ Club in 1986. She has served the Retirees’ Club as President, Treasurer, and Member-at-Large. She has served as Chairperson and served on

 many committees. Marian resides in Huntington Beach.

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS #1: Ed Camire  (562) 865-7168

After 34 years experience in the industry, Ed retired from Ralph’s Markets in 1990. He has been an active member of the Retirees’ Club and has served as Sergeant-at-Arms and is on numerous committees. Ed and his lovely wife Jackie reside in Lakewood.

SERGEANT –AT- ARMS #2: Keith Taylor  (562) 696-9873

Keith has 38 years experience in the industry and joined the Retirees Club in 2009. He has served as Member-at-Large #2 and Member-at-Large #5 and on numerous committees.

Keith and his lovely wife Gay reside in Whittier.

MEMBER –AT-LARGE #1:  Carole Peterson  (714) 521-6860

Carole retired from Safeway Markets after 25 years in the industry. Carole joined the Retirees’ Club in 1985 and has served as Member-at-Large #1,  2^nd Vice President and on numerous committees. Carole resides in Buena Park.

MEMBER-AT-LARGE #2:  Bonnie Ladbury   (714)527-7009

Bonnie became an Associate Member of the Retirees’ Club in 1995.  Bonnie has served as Member-at-Large #2, as Travel Host, runs the Snack Bar, and serves on numerous committees. Bonnie and her husband Kay reside in Anaheim.

Before retiring, Lvonne worked for Mayfair Markets. She joined the Club in 1987. Lvonne has served as Member-at-Large #3, Audit, and numerous committees. Lvonne resides in Anaheim.

MEMBER-AT-LARGE #4:  Kay Crawford  (714) 827-8598

Before retiring, Kay worked at A & P Markets where she served as Bookkeeper and Checker. She joined the Retirees’ Club in 2002.  Kay has served as Member-at-Large #4, Assistant Treasurer and serves on numerous committees.  Kay resides in Buena Park.

MEMBER-AT-LARGE #5:  Carol Cluck  (714) 539- 6090

Before retiring, Carol worked at Albertsons as a clerk, and Vons as service department head and trainer. She has been an active member of the Retirees’ Club for the past ten years.  She has served as Member-at-Large #5, Co-chair of the White Elephant Auction, and manages the popular Cake Walk at our Annual Picnic.  Carol resides in Garden Grove.
